Sounds of Fall at Wildlife Safari Park - September 11, 2010
Become an animal detective for a day! Learn to identify animals by their sounds, tracks and evidence they leave behind at Wildlife Safari Park during the Sounds of Fall event on September 11, 2010 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Enjoy touching and feeling animal artifacts, participating in crafts and enjoying other special activities at Wolf Woods.

Wildlife Safari Park is operated by Omaha’s Zoo and is located off Nebraska’s I-80, Exit 426. Admission prices for Wildlife Safari Park are Child (3-11) $4, Adult (12 & over) $6, Senior (62 & over) $5. Omaha's Zoo members receive $1 off admission per person.

Grandparent's Day - September 12, 2010
Join Omaha's Henry Doorly Zoo and celebrate Grandparent’s Day on Sunday, September 12, 2010. The event activities include free coffee at TreeTop's Restaurant, Oasis Concession Stand and Qwest Concession Stand during regular hours. There will also be a special animal presentation at 1:30 p.m. in Hubbard Gorilla Valley near the large indoor exhibit.

Event activities are free for Omaha’s Zoo members or with regular paid Zoo admission.

Family Fiesta - September 26, 2010
Join Omaha’s Zoo for a fiesta for the whole family on Sunday, September 26. Featuring Soccer mascots, a live mariachi band and more – the event will be filled with fun family-friendly activities. A detailed schedule will be available by September 20, 2010.

Event activities are free for Omaha's Zoo members or with regular paid admission.

Creepy Creature Month - October 2010
They creep and crawl… but what makes a spider so unique? Visit Omaha’s Zoo Butterfly and Insect Pavilion during ‘Creepy Creature’ month to get up-close-and-personal with the eight-legged creatures, plus other ‘Halloween-themed’ insects!

All of the insect displays have been transformed into Halloween-themed exhibits highlighting different black, orange and white insects. Each display contains special fun facts about the uncommon species. Special themed keeper talks will be held (weekends only) in the entrance to the pavilion.

Fire Awareness Month - October 9, 2010
In recognition of Fire Awareness Month, learn about fire safety at Omaha's Zoo on Saturday, October 9, 2010.

Zoo Run presented by Werner Enterprises - October 17, 2010
Lace up your shoes for the 30th annual Zoo Run presented by Werner Enterprises on October 17, 2010! Check in begins at 8 a.m. This event is great for runners of all levels with the choice between a five mile or one mile run/walk.

Cost is $20 for adults and $15 for children if registered before October 1, 2010. After October 1, the cost is $25 for adults and $20 for children. Participants will receive bagels by Bruegger's Bagels, bananas from Hy-Vee, beverages provided by Whole Foods and free Omaha's Zoo admission on the day of the run. Plus, if registered by October 1, 2010, participants will receive a free t-shirt.

Haunted Safari at the Wildlife Safari-October 23, 2010
Go on a haunted hike, take a spooky ride, enjoy supper, roast marshmallows and participate in ghostly games from 6-9 p.m. at Wildlife Safari Park! Haunted Safari is a safe and fun Halloween event for families. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Wear your costume and dress warm as this is an outside activity. Cost is $15 per person(children ages two and under are free)and registration is required.

Spooktacular - October 24, 2010
The most popular Halloween event in town, Spooktacular is fun for children of all ages! Join Omaha's Henry Doorly Zoo for a fun-filled day October 24, 2010 from 10 a.m. - 3 p.m.

This event offers guests the opportunity to trick or treat at Omaha's Zoo and fill their bags with goodies from special treat stations. Event is free for Omaha's Zoo members or with regular paid Zoo admission.

Holiday Happenings 2010
Santa is coming to town… and he will be making a special stop at Omaha’s Zoo to dive in the Scott Aquarium shark tunnel December 4, 11 and 18.

Watch Santa have a great time swimming among sharks, stingrays and sea turtles. The 70 foot-long tunnel in the Scott Aquarium gives visitors a great view of Santa swimming as well as a glimpse from the bottom of the ocean floor.

Santa’s visit isn’t the only special activity going on, many Zoo residents will be getting special enrichment gifts throughout the day! Enrichment activities provide animals with challenges, environmental stimulation and physical and mental exercise. These activities are as essential to animal health and their well-being as proper nutrition and medical care and help to provide a better overall quality of life.

Supper with Santa - December 17, 2010
Join Santa and Mrs. Claus at Omaha's Zoo for a night of fun-filled holiday spirit! Enjoy supper, crafts, pictures with Santa and more from 6 - 8 p.m.

Registration is required and fee will be assessed (children ages two and under are free). All children must be accompanied by an adult.
