Read Around the World
Omaha's Henry Doorly Zoo and our partners would like to encourage and promote reading in your school and every household. The Read Around the World event strives to motivate families, educators, and students to read about the diversity of life found around the world. To do this, we would like to once again challenge schools to participate in this reading program.

The Big Read Poetry Contest
This is your opportunity to share your poetry. The Omaha Big Read is launching a state-wide poetry contest. Write a poem and enter it in your local contest. Your local librarians will judge the poetry and select one winner from each library system. Poetry representing each of the six library systems will be chosen to be on display at the Omaha's Henry Doorly Zoo, Omaha Children's Museum, Joslyn Art Museum, and Omaha Public Library during the month of May. Also each winning poet and their families will win a weekend trip to Omaha to visit each of the locations with an overnight stay at the Zoo on the weekend of May 29, 2010.
